Ride around Lake Michigan

Event date:
Thu, 08/10/2023 - 8:00am to Sun, 08/13/2023 - 5:00pm

This is a 4 Day ride around Lake Michigan.  Final trip details are still in process.  We will be going around the lake in the clockwise direction.

Day 1 - We'll be starting at WHD and heading north with the overnight stop at the Americinn in Menominee, MI.  I'll take us around Milwaukee before we move over to ride along the lake.  We'll head into Door County briefly before we head into Michigan.  Total miles for the day will be in the area of 300 to 330ish.

Day 2 - We will continue in the counter clockwise direction heading across the Mackinac Bridge into Mackinaw City.  We'll be staying at the Baymont Hotel.  The location close to the shops and tourist attractions.  We'll be able to arrive early enough that we'll be able to take much of the afternoon to sightsee, shop, eat, etc. Time to relax and enjoy the day.  Mileage for the day will be about 200.

Day 3 - We'll be heading south to Hudsonville for a short stay at the Quality Inn.  We will ride through the Tunnel of Trees.  A photo stop will get you a Challenge Coin as this is one of the 50 Rides, One Nation challenge.  The day will be include hitting some photo stops along the way.

Day 4 - This is our day to head back to the garage.  I will plan a route around the southern tip of Lake Michigan.  As you know, the quickest way route is the tollway.  I will plan a route that keeps us off the tollway and a little safer on the return.

On all 4 days, I will try to include dealer stops as well.  This will give you the chance to shop and also to take your photo for the dealer challenge.  And as always, please fell free to offer additional suggestions on places you might want to visit.  If we can work it into the route, we will do so.

Riding Suggestions?  Many of you may have rides or destinations you like or would like to do.  Please let me know.  We would love to work this into our schedule.  We invite you to help plan the ride and to even lead the ride.  Let's share these thoughts and ideas.  I, for one, have rode to a lot of places and I need some new spots to try.
